Does anyone know of any Indian reservations that were near or around Ozark in Dale county in the mid 1940's. My mom says that she lived on one during that time period but doesn't remember what or exactly where it was. Also she said she was born at Liza-Judy but she nor I know of anyplace with that name during that period. Help would greatly be appreciated!

Not in Dale County. In fact, there were NEVER any Indian researvations in what is now Dale County.
If your mother was living in Dale County in the 1940's, it certainly was not on an Indian reservation.
NOTE: you must learn to take "old wive's tales" with a grain of salt. They are told mainly for the amusement of children...not to be taken for fact.

There were no Indian Reservations in Dale Co., AL during the 1940's, but there was a big US Army Base built there about 1942 called Camp Rucker ... Now it's called Fort Rucker and is a large helicopter training base .. A lot of Dale Co. land was taken for the military reservation that surrounds this base.

Initially, Camp Rucker was used to train the US Army's 81st
Infantry "Wildcat" Division.. They saw a lot of service in the south Pacific during WW2 ...

There is a small reservation of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians near Atmore in Escambia County, AL .. In 2006 they had about 1000 members ...
