Surnames: Archilius, Maddox
Charley ARCHILIUS,age 65, wife Mary, age 43, and 7 children are listed in the 1850 Census for Covington Co.,AL. He is listed as a Farmer and he was born in Pennsylvania. Charley is also recorded in the 1840 Pike Co, AL census and in the 1830 Covington Co., AL.
I would like to find any other families with this surname. I am ultimately trying to find a G G Grandmother, named Wealthy Ann ARCHILIUS, born about 1820 in either Alabama or Georgia. This dob does not fit any of Charley's family members as recorded on the 1850 census, but of course she might have been married by then. She married Milton MADDOX about 1840, in Alabama or Georgia. The numbers on the 1830 and 1840 records do not seem to have room for her either, assuming a birth date of ca 1820.

I don't have information of Wealthy Archilus, but I'm researching Charles & his wife Mary Barrow. My line is from their daughter Julia Emily. Have a little more, please e-mail me. Thanks Dian

Julia Emily Archillis (and other sp.) married Breen Barrow 22 September 1885 and had two sons: William Green and Warren Green. Warren died 5 months after Julia's death and is my GGGrandfather. William's middle name may not actually be Green but scanty records seem to indicate so. Do you have futher info on Julia and the Barrow's?

Hi Steve

Please email me I have a lot more on Julia Emily Archilles & Green Barrow. Was really surprised to hear from my Archilles
posting as it has been a couple of years. You being Warrens grandson would make you & my husband maybe 3rd or 4th cousins. Your grandfather & my husbands grandmother were brother & sister.

Steve, Did the "Green Barrow" you are researching immigrate to Cov.CO., AL from Macon CO., GA? I am descended from John Gray and Gatsey Barrow. I have data on "Green Barrow" as living for awhile in GA
