Isaac "Bud" Coon and/or wife Kitty Lee Hancock

Does anyone have any info. on "Bud's" wife Kitty or Kittie Lee Hancock. They both are buried in nearly unmarked plots at Cool Springs in Opp. I have obtained his death certificate but it created more questions than it answered. They were the parents of Lucy Coon who married John Taylor "Fox" Edgar. Fox and Lucy were the parents of my father (William) David Edgar.
Also, does anyone know where dad might have gone to school? It seems that he grew up in the Onycha(?) Horn Hill areas but I dunno. His childhood is a complete mystery to me and this saddens me greatly! FYI, dad was first married to Sharron Lloyd and later to Helon Morgan Thompson Woodyard

Don't know if I can help or just add to the confusion.....
(was Bud's wife's maiden name Raley, as my records show or Hancock, as your records show?)...
Most of my information is from other researchers but some is my own research and I am not good at noting exactly where each piece of my information came from.
That being said, my COON files show the following info:
Isaac Simeon "Bud" COON (5th son of Isaac Gideon COON & Elizabeth “Betts” Hattaway) was b. 07 Jun 1880 - d. aft 1930 (on 1930 census). The 1900 census shows Isaac was born in Jun 1881.
m. abt 1901 (per 1910 census)
m. Martha Lee "Kitty" Raley - b. abt 1881 AL - d. aft 1930 (on census)
“Bud” and “Kitty" are buried in Cool Springs Cemetery, Opp, Covington Co., AL
11/17/05 - WW1 draft record shows a Isaac Simion COON, age 38 of Opp, AL - b. 07 Jun 1880 - self farmer - nearest relative: Kittie Lee COON of Opp, AL
made his X - medium height - medium build - brown eyes - light hair - Registered 12 Sep 1918

Children (8 per census records) of Isaac Simeon "Bud" COON & Martha Lee "Kitty" Raley:
1. Lula V. Coon - b. abt 1903 (1910 census)
2. Lucy E. Coon - b. abt 1905 (1910 census)
3. Elizabeth Lee "Lizzie" COON - b. abt 1907 (1910 census)
4. Harlan J. Coon - b. 24 Apr 1909 - d. 28 Sep 1995
5. Ruby Irene COON - b. abt 1912 (1920 census)
6. Woodrow COON - b. abt 1918 (1920 census)
7. Ather COON (son) - b. abt 1920 (1930 census)
8. Nathan COON - b. abt 1924 (1930 census)

This family was in Covington Co., AL on the 1910 & 1920 census but are in Montgomery Co., AL on the 1930 census (working in the cotton mill there).
Please let me know if my information is wrong and I would also appreciate it if you could add any information.

Thank you very much for the info you provided. Just a couple of days ago I discovered a document at trackingyourroots.com that seems to have answered one of my questions. Covington County, Alabama Marriages Volume A (1895-1905) shows on page 232 a marriage between S. Coon (would be Isaac Simion Coon) and Kitty Lee Hancock on January 20, 1901. Yippee...finally a document that shows her maiden name! I'm still digging for more info on her family but I feel like I just struck gold!

Good detective work there Sherry, I will change my files to reflect that "Bud's" wife was Kitty Lee Hancock.
Now, I have tried to find Kitty on the 1900 census, she would have been in her mother or father's HH but I can't find any Hancock families in Covington County on that census.
However, the 1910 Covington County census does show a widowed Mollie Hancock, age 63, born in GA. She was living with a 31 year old daughter named Bertha Hattaway. They were living next to Archie W. McPherson & his wife Melvina Coon and next to them lived Henry Coon and wife Nancy (my line). Bud's father Isaac Gideon Coon was a brother of Henry Coon.
BTW, I guess you know that Isaac Gideon had a twin brother named Simeon Travis Coon?
Then on the 1920 Covington census Mollie's daughter Bertha is married to a man over twice her age named John Newby (John Newby is often found near the Coon family on the censuses). Anyway, what I'm getting at is that Mollie Hancock might be Kitty's mother. If you find out anything more I would appreciate the information.

Shelby:
Just wanted to give you an update on my quest for info on Kitty Lee. I received Granny Lucy's (Kitty's daughter) death certificate today which confirmed Bud Coon and Kitty Lee Hancock as her parents.
FYI, I had been told that Lucy died from a bedsore which left questions in my mind. However, the death certificate pretty much confirmed that info. Cause of death: arthritis and sepsis. To me, that translates to blood poison from bed sore (Mizell Memorial). Sad, very sad! I do miss her...she was a very good granny! :-}

This finley hit home"
1850 Coffee Co.John M. Coon had married Sarah, There was Hutsons, William, Martha, and Wesley Listed. Next door in the HH of Henry and Amelia Coon was listed Willis Hutson..
1860 Covington Co
John Coon was listed with Children, Jackson, Caroline, Henry, Isaac, and Simeon.
The Hutson / Hudson Is my Linage. The Coon twins Isaac and Simon could very well be the half brothers to my Hudsons.
I would love to know when and where Sarah died and was burried.
Do you have any of this info?
