Searching for the parents and siblings of John Moore, born 1801 in Columbia County, GA with death in 1887, Lineville, Clay County, Alabama. John married Elizabeth (Betsy) Luker, the daughter of William Luker (Looker) and Catherine Crook. Some research records indicate Madison County, GA. Children include:

The Moores lived in Coweta County, GA in the 1830s, moving to Tallapoosa County, AL before the 1840 census, and then moving to Clay (Randolph) County AL before the 1860 census. Research has shown that the Moores stayed near Betsy’s parents throughout their lifetime.
Research has not confirmed but Family tale states the John’s father was John Nathaniel Moore born in Virginia or South Carolina and his mother, name unknown born in Maryland. Further states his grandfather was born in Ireland coming to America before The Revolutionary War, but served and died in service thereof.

This is my Moore family. I notice the name Ephriam Moore and wonder if there is a connection. These married in Troup Co, GA, migrated to Chambers and settled in Tallapoosa. There was a Mary Ida Moore who married Robert Barron believed to be the siblings of Patrick Moore and Pharaba Barron below. Be glad to share more. Glenda Lowe

Thanks for the reply. There are some similar naming patterns, but I am unable to make a connection. I searched through the name or initials of all the grandchildren looking for a Patrick. The only families I have found in Tallapoosa County were John’s Family and a few of his wife’s Luker family. John’s daughter Sarah married a William Character in Tallapoosa County before they moved to Clay (Randolph Countyy. Our Ephraim enlisted for service in the CSA at about the age of twenty and was killed in action around Richmond on 27 June 1862. Does not appear that he was married.
