I haven't heard about the De convero story. My Great-Grandfather Michael Convery came to America around 1859 to Vincennes, Indiana where he married Mathilda Myria O'Conner when their got there and a month later had their first child. Michael was born March of 1834 in Ireland. His parents were James C. Convery and Elizabeth O'Neil. He married Mathilda on June 1, 1859 in Vincennes, Indiana where they had 12 children. Mathilda's parents were Patrick C. O'Conner and Anna Cassidy. The story that has came down the generatioins is that Michael was a stable hand for Mathilda's father, Patrick, and that they fell in love and had to come to America to be together and that they came over on the same ship together. Hopefully we might be able to connect our families.
