My connection is to Phoebe (or Phebe) West, who married Thomas Sceles. They were loyalists who emigrated to Guysborough County, Nova Scotia in the late 1700s. Based on her age given at the time of her death, she would have been born circa 1770 - 1771. The death certificate of her son William, who died in Gloucester, MA, listed Thomas Sceles' birthplace as Philadelphia, Phoebe West's birthplace as Hampton. There was no indication of the state or country in which Hampton was located. I am hoping to find out where she came from, and who her parents were. If you can shed any light on this, please let me know. I have no information about William or Abner West. There name William appears frequently among Phoebe's descendants. I have not encountered the name Abner at all.
