My great-great-grandmother, Maria J. Perez y Cardosa, was 61 years old in the 1920 census of Hormigueros. Her father's names was Perez, her mother's name was Cardosa. She married a Segarra and I believe his name was either Juan or Jose. She had many children, one of which was my great-grandmother, Micaela Segarra. Micaela was born around the late 1880's and died shortly after the 1920 census. Your ancestor, America Perez may have been a sister or a cousin; however, I don't remember the name mentioned amoung the list of sisters and brothers. Are any of your Segarras from Cabo Rojo? from San German? from Mayagues? from Hormigueros? Have you found any of your Segarras from official documents? If you have, which ones? I would most interested, because of the story of one of your ancestors being born on a ship. Please provide as much detail as possible so we may establish a link. Thankyou.
