| I see you are searching the same Mills line I am searching. Your query was posted several years ago so I hope you will get this. I have not had time to go through all the children and marriages you listed but I will. However I do have that Robert Mills married Mary Carleton, April 16, 1725 in York Co.,PA and were Quakers. I am a direct descendent of him through his son James and his son Eli and his son also Eli who is buried in the Mills cemetry in Ill. Although I have been able to follow the Carleton line to 1520 in England, I have not been able to find out anything about Robert Mills parents, siblings etc. I recently got all the LDS microfilms of Quakers in Ireland and there were no "Mills" listed at all! So I suspect that Robert was not a Quaker until he came to the US. One record states he was born in Ballyhagen, Ireland (that's near Edenderry) in 1705 and Christened a short time later in Seagoe, Armagh, Ireland. In April this year (2008) we are going to Ireland and see if we can find out anything more. Possibly in the Church of Ireland. Do let me know if you get this. Perhaps you have found some additional information since you posted this. Or maybe someone else will see this and respond. | |
