The May family you have mentioned is not related to my branch, as far as I can tell. Interesting though is the story of a cousin on my Arnold side of the family, Bill Ray Arnold. His maternal g.ma, Laura Pet May. Her parents; James K. Polk May & Mary Lyell. Her g.parents George & Lucinda May. Bills paternal G.ma, Mary Caroline Stacy. Her mom's maiden name was Bones, they came from Kentucky. I have a zerox picture of the "May Boys" which I believe he told me were Laura's Brothers. Let me know if this fits.
