I don't know anything about this court case or the people, but I do have a "George P.Lore" in my family. He was born in Knox County Ohio in 1875. His father was William G. Lore and was "adopted" or came into the family in Knox County about 1865. Possibly from New York , but not sure about that. Don't know why he named his first son "George P. " but I'm looking for any clues to find his birth parents. Interesting that your "George P." has same name . . . If you have any thoughts about possible family connections, please let me know.
